Emergency appointment made for 1.5 hours after my call. Receptionists very helpful and courteous in what is obviously a very busy practice.

Very busy surgery and after a few unsuccessful attempts to get through on the phone, I went to the surgery to make an appointment. the receptionist who made the appointment (sorry I didn't get her name) was very helpful and fitted me in a few days later (it wasn't an emergency). I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist (Vicky) for the appointment. The appointment was 30 minutes late (before 10am in the morning), although this was not an issue for me.

Do not expect much empathy, or care if you are suffering depression. I have a history of depression but it has been over 10 years since I have suffered a major episode. The doctor who used to treat me has now retired and I am at the mercy of the 'new brigade' I was told I could go on a list for counselling which could take up to three months, and meanwhile I should 'pull myself together, get out for a long walk, and improve my diet'. This advice was rather patronising and it was obvious the doctor felt it was a time wasting visit. I left the surgery feeling distressed and worthless. This type of issue is obviously not of high importance and I will be avoiding further consultation with this doctor in future.

Had to make an appt which took a week to see the GP. I waited 40 mins to see the GP at this point I asked the receptionist how much longer as I have child care issues looming if it goes on much more. I was told snottily by the receptionist to sit and wait. On seeing the GP, they didn't perform the correct inspection of my body. I was told to get out and saw the GP for a total of 3 mins. I've had sleepless nights due to the worry, and I didn't get the service or respect I needed. I feel completely let down, this was a complete waist of time and the worry continues. Have decided to charge surgeries for one who will give me the time and care I need.

Making an appointment via telephone can take a while as the (single) appointment telephone line is often busy. The surgery staff are very helpful and endeavour to ensure that emergency appointments are available. I recently had to wait 70 minutes for an emergency appointment due to a more severe emergency The receptionist notified all patients of the delay giving them the opportunity to rebook their appointment.
